Project Profile

This project was a time constraint project right out of the box with a target completion of 1 year, General Caulking and Coatings Company partnered with Balfour Beatty for the massive and challenging undertaking.

The project is a full-service resort consisting of 7-10 buildings including a convention center, parking garage, multiple guest towers all connected, restaurants, tropical lagoon and towering waterfall along with the entertainment areas.

The scope of work for General Caulking consisted of waterproofing a below grade service tunnel that connects all resort buildings, elevator pits, caulking of all exterior windows, installation of expansion joint systems both vertical and horizontal, hot applied waterproofing systems over occupied spaces and waterproofing pedestrian deck coating systems throughout the resort.

The project was performed in stages with all waterproofing below grade systems installed first, GCC chose Carlisle Waterproofing systems for the below grade tunnel waterproofing and hot applied systems.

• Dow Corning silicone products for all window perimeter sealants
• MM Expansion joint systems (SIF series for vertical), and EWS series for horizontal.
• NeoGard coatings for all balcony deck coating systems

This project although a challenging one was brought in on time and was watertight.
